Rules and Guidelines

Recent changes are in purple. Red font is used for former rules that are no longer rules and have been changed recently.

I. Introduction

Unobtainium is a horde guild on the Uldaman server. We are a casual raiding guild. While raid progression and raid success is very important to us, we still strive to maintain a fun, friendly atmosphere. While we are casual we still do have structure and organization. These rules are put in place to help the guild run more smoothly and effeciently. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please talk to Etaliz, Mineva, or Artymis.

II. General Rules

  1. Public and Officer Notes - Public Notes can be edited by any member of Unobtainium. Public notes can be used for humorous or serious purposes. However, please keep this notes respectful and non offensive. Officer notes are used to inform members about a players real name or whatever they prefer to be called and that member's professions. Officer notes on Alt characters will let someone know what main character that alt belongs to.

  2. Alt Characters - Alternate Characters are allowed into the guild. However, an alt character cannot be considered another "member" of the guild. One member can have many characters, but he/she is still only one member.

  3. Probation - A member that is causing issues in the guild through guild chat, vent, or some other means can be placed on probation. Probation is a rank in the guild where that player cannot get loot from raids for up to two weeks and will be considered only as a last resort. The probation rank will be removed if the issue is considered resolved. For a member to be placed on probabtion it requires unanimous approval of the High Council.

  4. Guild Enchants - The guild enchanter is Etaliz. Etaliz will give out guild enchants for free to those who are the rank of member or higher. This does not guarantee free enchants at all times. Etaliz simply doesn't always have the mats to do so. Enchants are also subject to Etaliz's discretion. If tips are given they are given straight to the guild bank.

III. Ranks

Probation

Probation is a special, temporary rank for members who have caused disturbances and have repeated issues with other members.

  • Using Guild Chat

Members are the backbone of the guild. Members are people that have been deemed useful in game and/or socially by their Class Officer. Members are the first rank to gain access to the guild bank. Members can be promoted based upon many factors by their class officer.

Veteran

Veterans are members that have proven themselves to have an extremely positive influence on the guild and to be dedicated to helping other guild members. Veterans are also members that are believed to be here to stay. Veterans mean a lot to the guild as they are a reliable source for social interaction and/or raiding characters. Members cannot be made a Veteran unless they are level 70. To become a veteran there must be unanimous consent from the High Council.

Class Officer

Class Officer is the first officer level rank in Unobtainium. Class Officers are responsible for the development and welfare of those in their class. IV. Guild Bank

Unobtainium has a guild bank that holds items neccessary to guild raids, crafting, and other matters. The guild bank is split into two different sections. The private section of the guild bank is the first 4 tabs. These tabs are only accessible to Officers. Officers can distribute items in these tabs of the guild members. The final two tabs have not been purchased yet, but will be public tabs that all guild members can share items.

V. Raid Structure

General Guidelines

Our raid nights are Wednesday, Sunday, and Monday at 8:00 - 12:00 Server Time. We have no raid quotas; however, members are encouraged to raid as often as possible to assist us all in progession.

Signups on the Rapid Raid section of the Guild Website are mandatory to attend raids.

If you signup at the guild website you are expected to stay until the raid is finished. If you are unable to stay for the full duration please let if be known before we start. Some raids may continue past 12:00. We encourage members to stay until the raid is finshed, but we understand if members have to leave.

If you signup, you are expected to:

  • Log on and be prepared for the raid at no less than 15 minutes before raid time.
  • Meet the raid requirements
  • Have researched and understand the fights for the night.

All members are expected to act in a respectful and helpful manor. If someone is causing a disturbance by their behavior, a warning may be issued. If the conduct isn't corrected, removal from the raid is an option. We understand that raiding should be interactive and fun; however, please keep vent and raid warnings clear so that raid leaders can more easily give instructions. During boss fights vent must be kept clear except for pertitent information to the fight.

These rules apply mainly to 25 man raids. The following only applies to 10 man raids:

  • Will be run on off nights; however, they may not be scheduled or setup by raid leaders or overseers.
  • There is no loot council.
  • Loot is entirely seperate from loot in 25 man raids.
  • All drops should be passed on discussed and then picked up after discussion by the appropriate player.
  • Void Crystals are expected to go to the guild bank if it is a guild run.

Raid Selection

Raid leaders with the assistance of class officers are repsonsible for selecting the members that go on raids based upon several factors:

  • Specific classes that are needed
  • Webpage signups
  • Past performance
  • Discretion

If a member is not initially selection for a raid there will be a reserve list of members ready to go on that raid. To be on this list your character must be ready and stationed outside the instance, but the guild member does not have to currently be playing on the that character. Any questions relating to raid selection must go to your class officer first, then to the raid leader, and as a last resort to an Overseer/Guild.

Signups on the Rapid Raid section of the Guild Website are mandatory to attend raids. They however do not guarantee a spot in any fashion. Please understand this is our primary tool for planning raids. Please use the signup notes to adequately inform the raid leaders of any special circumstances.
